Privacy Policy

This is a template and not legal advice.

Last updated: 2026-06-18

Hangr is a personal clothing dashboard. This policy explains what we collect, how it is used, and the choices you have. Hangr is an early-stage product operated by an individual, so this policy may change as the product evolves.

What we collect

Account information. Your email address, name, and a hashed (not plain-text) version of your password.

Captured items. Items you save from shopping sites, including product images, full-page screenshots, the source link, and scraped product text.

AI-generated tags. Labels and attributes our AI generates to help organize your items.

Outfits. Collections and combinations of items that you create.

Body photos and try-on results. If you use the optional virtual try-on feature, the full-body photos you upload of yourself and the AI-generated try-on images produced from them.

Your body photos are sensitive. We treat full-body photos you upload with extra care. They are used only to generate virtual try-on images at your request, and only sent to the try-on provider for that purpose. You can delete them at any time.

How we use your data

We use your data to operate the service: to store and display your closet, generate tags, build outfits, and — only when you ask — to create virtual try-on images. We also use it to maintain your account, keep the service secure, and fix problems.

Third-party AI processors

To provide some features we send relevant data to trusted third-party AI processors. We share only what each feature needs to work.

OpenRouter (Anthropic Claude). When you save an item, we send its images to OpenRouter (using Anthropic's Claude models) to analyze and tag them.

fal.ai (FASHN). When you use virtual try-on, we send the relevant item image and your uploaded body photo to fal.ai (running the FASHN model) to generate the try-on image.

These processors handle data under their own terms and privacy policies. We send images to them only to provide the feature you requested.

Storage and security

Your data and images are stored on the operator's server. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes — never in plain text. We take reasonable steps to protect your data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Cookies and sessions

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to operate the service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and its data at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us at the address below. Deleting your account removes your items, images, screenshots, scraped text, outfits, uploaded body photos, and try-on results from our active systems. Copies may remain in backups for a limited time before being overwritten.

Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete content or your account, we delete the associated data, subject to short-lived backup retention noted above.

We do not sell your data

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the AI processors described above, and only to provide the features you use.

Changes to this policy

Because Hangr is early-stage, this policy may change as the product develops. When it does, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
